On the same day, after celebrating Mr. Khor Boon Teik's retirement, the school launched the Palm Tree planting campaign. Every teacher gets to plant a palm tree for the school as part of the beautifying the school programme. Students who wish to contribute in this "greening" the school programme can contact the school to find a suitable location to plant a palm tree too. [more picts] |

11 hardworking staffs from Penang Free School were selected to receive the Excellence Service Award 2007 on the 26 June 2008 at Tabung Haji Banquet Hall. 3 non-academic staffs and 8 academic staffs. They are: Mr. Lim Ah Seng, Mr. Ch'ng Yeang Soon, Mr. Rahamatullah B. Sulaiman, Mr. Nasaruddin B. Ishak, En. Mat Nor, Ms Ruby Mangalam Janet, Ms.Sarojini, Ms. Chee Keat Bee, Ms. Yeoh Poh Lin, Ms. Che Su and Ms Farizah. The School would like to thank the District Education Department and State Education Department for their generosity. |

A group of 42 Educational Officers from Indonesia visited the school on the 28 June 08 (Saturday) They were treated with cultural dances and march-past from the various uniformed bodies. A 30 minutes briefing cum presentation concerning the school was later held at the lecture theatre. A palm tree planting ceremony at the school hostels was carried out to commemorate their visits. The school hopes with this visit more Indonesian Entourage will come and perhaps an international smart-partnership will be established in the near future. | ||||

Congratulations again to Penang Free School for retaining the Sirajuddin Cup. Our school football team played very well to retain the cup for the second season. Our team beats the Malay College Kuala Kangsar 3 - 1 in Hockey played in the USM fields. The school wishes to thank the school football and Hockey players for a splendid game. Well Done Boys! |

The school again welcomes the Phichai RattanaKhan School, Ranong. Thailand. It is indeed a joy to see our dear friends visiting us again. The school has prepared a lot of wonderful programmes for this 3rd International Exchange Programme. This year are honoured to receive about 35 students and 5 teachers. The students will meet their foster parents today and will stay with them until Thursday. The school hopes that this fantastic relationship will continues as a smart partnership programme. Besides that, we hope to learn much from our Thailand friends and continues to foster a strong bond between Ranong and Penang Free.[more picts] | |||||
