After 56 years of passionate and dedicated service in the educational field, Mr. Khor Boon Teik received a very warm sent-off by the school. Mr. Khor Boon Teik began his teaching career in Penang Free School on the 22nd November 1992. He is one of the most respected Mathematics teachers in the school. His undying love, passion and commitments he bestowed to his students and school are commendable. The school will never get a teacher like him anymore. The school and his students will miss him very much and wish him all the best. His works will be remembered for all times. [more picts] |

Just after the 2nd monthly test, the form 4 and form 3 students are required to sit for another multiple-choiced diagnostic test. This is a PPSMI project conducted by the Malaysian Government to gauge the understanding of the subject and the English proficiency of her students. The teachers are to grade the students and determined whether the students need any remedial classes. This photograph was taken in 4 Cekal while the students are attempting the Additional Mathematics Module 2 test. Duration of the test is about 40 minutes. | ||||

Penang Free School tries to expose her students to many foreign examination. Every year the school encourages her students to participate in the International Competition and Assessment for Schools for English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Science and Physics. These papers are from the University of New South Wales, Australia. This year 103 senior students sat for the English papers in the school hall. The students have to pay a small registration fee in order to sit for the examination which will be marked in Australia and the results will be posted back to the school in a few months time. |

Penang Free School in collaboration with University Science Malaysia and SERI have once again successfully organised the fourth Putra Lecture in the "Masyarakat Penyayang" Complex on the 7 August 2008. The honorary speaker is Y Bhg. Dato' Dr. Mazlan Othman the Director of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs. The title of the lecture is "Education and Excellence - Challenges in the 21st Century." | |||||
