Penang Free School welcomes the Kluang High School; a distinguished Premier School in Johore on the 8 August 2008. This Bench Marking visit is an effort made by the PTA of Kluang High School to enable their school to excel to a greater height. The group which comprises about 10 PTA members including the Chairman is accompanied by 15 student leaders of the school. Penang Free School is indeed deeply honoured to play host to the the top school of Johore. We are also thrilled that Dato' Ong Heang Tee, the president of OFA Penang came to join us in this occasion. |

Under the In-house training (LDP) and ETeMS programme, the teachers are invited to attend a six hour ICT course facilitated by Mr. David Chng and Mr. Goh Seng Kar. The teachers were taught a very famous on-line quiz programme called "HotPotatoes." The teachers enjoyed themselves as they learned how to create and up-load on-line quizzes of various types which include Cloze, Multiple-select, Crossword puzzle, Mix, and Match. As a cluster school of excellence, we believed that all teachers should be ICT savvy as well as being creative in their teaching and learning methodologies. |

A group of 80 delegates from Southern Thailand comprising First Secretary Policy & Planning Bureau Minister of Foreign Affairs, Education Ministers, School Directors and Student Leaders visited the school for an Educational Tour. They arrived in two buses and a van and they were taken to the school library, the school archives and to the lecture theatre for a short briefing about the school. We would like to thank Mr. Kiran Moongtin (First Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and Mr. Maroning Karoh (Leader of the group) all the Directors and Student Leaders for being such a perfect guest. | ||||

The sheltered walk-path from the front parking lot to the school main entrance is now almost 90% complete. It is expected to be completed before the school Speech day. (21st October 2008). Very soon the school canteen will be renovated too. When the canteen is renovated, the school hopes to set up a top rated cafeteria for her students.

The celebration of PFS 2008 Co-curriculum Day began with a march-past. The school would like to thank Dato' Syed Mohd. Aidid bin Syed Murtaza, DSPN.,DJN.,JP.,PKT ,members of the Parent-Teacher Association and parents for gracing this auspicious occasion. The prize giving ceremony was held in the school hall. The Guests of Honour who came are Dato' Syed Mohd. Aidid bin Syed Murtaza, DSPN.,DJN.,JP.,PKT, Dato' Haji Abdul Rafique bin Abdul Karim, YDP Muhammad Taufiq bin Abdullah. [more pictures] | |||||
