PFS Main Gate

I have passed by this simple yet elegant structure countless of times since Form 1. Most probably THE icon of Penang Free School , this image was taken on a Saturday morning with only a handful of people in sight. I like how the whiteness of the arch is contrasted with the blue skies and its surroundings while the incorporation of Mr. Singh and the motorcycles add scale to this image.

Corridors

In perspective: Sunlight streaking in to illuminate the corridors of the school hall. During my school days, the school prefects would ensure all students lined up neatly inside the hall on assembly days. I remember, as a prefect, we used to patrol the corridors during assemblies and made sure the students were orderly. The cheeky ones would be ‘singled-out’ and left to stand alone for the entire duration of the assembly as a reminder to the other students to keep quiet at all times.
